Before Installing
Before Installing
Please read some notes below so you can prepare all needed things before installation.
Basic steps for installation process
(1) Backup your system first for every new installation.
(2) Check server requirement details to meet PDP required options.
(3) Download and Install PDP with sample data and license key from your purchased account.
(4) Install module connector to sync products from PDP into Magento for checkout and save customized designs.
(5) Make a first test with PDP and your shopping cart to getting started.
Download modules
To download module source code and sample data of PDP, module connector to shopping cart, just login to your account and go to My Orders and My Download page. You can get domain license key from order details. These information are available when order status is COMPLETED. Please watch video below:
Database and Sample Data
- PDP can use same database with live store(Magento, Woocommerce, Opencart ..etc), so you can use the same database access information.
- You can install on separate database by creating new database, PDP will not create database name, database username and password during installation.
- Import the sample data SQL before running installation(You may unzip folder images after installation).
Module connector
You can find our module connector on github from footer links on live site. We have published source code and installation guide on github.
Other Notes
For a list of requirements on your web host, such as PHP library, see the official requirement page.
You will need to know how to use a text editor to edit the main configuration file if you want to run re-install(just turn on/off installed mode). If you are a Windows user, Notepad will do.
You will need to be able to use an FTP program to upload files and set file permissions (optional). You could choose FileZilla for this task, it is free software.

- Create new database before installation or install into same database with current store if you have integrated with Magento, Woocommerce or other PHP Ecommerce. It will create new database table without effect to your live store.
- You can check the database connection before process install on step 4.
- Empty old PDP database if you want to run re-install to clear entered data.

- Preview all entered information before process install. - You can change the backend url for security reasons. This field can be empty for default url is /backend. -

Store information

Path: System > General : Store information
Use for email template when you process a request a quotation from customer without a shopping cart. It is not really important section if you've e-commerce integrated.

Editor Theme
Select a template: Change default template of designer. We have Default theme. However, you can create new theme by duplicate our default theme. See Create New Theme Guide
Sidebar position: Change the position of sidebar on the left or right of designer.
Logo: Upload logo for designer tool.
Favicon: Upload Favicon
Logo URL: set link when click on logo.
Header Text(logo as text): If you don't have a logo image, you can use Header text as logo instead of image.
Default Title: Online Product Designer
Meta Description and Meta Keywords are for SEO purpose on the designer page.
Advanced Options
Language: Default language on frontend. (Pending function)
Currency: Default currency on frontend. (Pending function)
Min upload dimension: Required min width/height (in pixel) of upload photo.
Max upload files: max number of files for uploading on frontend.
Quick tour guide: Show/hide the quick tour guide when user start design. You can change the tour guide content in /templates/directives/help.html

You can setup difference options for each product type. For example if business card will required "Fill background color" and "show grid", but t-shirt will not need, so just create separate designer options set for each product type, name it and use it when setup product.

Printing Methods & Discount configuration in System > Printing Techniques Price
Setup Printing method and pricing of promotion by quatity, size or color. So you can setup unlimited pricing table for each type of printing type.
Depend on the printing type, quantity and number colors of design so we have difference print pricing profile for each product type.

Create New Theme Guide
Create New Theme Guide
Like Magento theme, you can create custom theme for PDP based on default theme.
PDP theme path: /public_html/path-to-PDP-root/public/frontend/skin
Required files and folder for your_theme_name (name of directory is also the label of theme)
- your_theme_name/assets/
- your_theme_name/templates/
- your_theme_name/dev-styles.phtml
- your_theme_name/index.phtml
- your_theme_name/production-styles.phtml
When you make a change of your_theme_name, just make sure you do follow this instruction:
- Do not edit or add new files in default theme or core js files, it will be overwrite when we have new update.
- Only edit file/directory after copied from default theme to your_theme_name.
- You can add new file/directory in your_theme_name such as js, css, html.

This action will allow you to take a backup of database.
1. Backup: Go to System > Backup/Restore then press
2. Restore: Go to System > Backup/Restore and then select a backup version to restore by press

Update
When PDP new version is available, it will show a warming message in backend like this:
1. Backup your system first if any changes
2. Install Update
Just go to System > Backup and Auto Update > Update and then Click on Install Update to update system automatic.
